Wasan Jema is a systems-thinking practitioner and waste diversion specialist who believes in the power of volunteerism that brings individuals, groups, and organisations together to embrace change in the local, national, and international levels.
Wasan has a master’s degree in Environment and Management and master’s in microbiology. Jema was awarded the Governor General’s Gold Medal for the most prestigious research work in Canada 2015. She is one of the Arab Women of Excellence Award winners from Life Transformation Academy for her research and positive contributions to the community she is part of in Alberta.
