The Amazing Trash Race

As litter continues to plague our city by piling up in our streets, parks, and precious waterways Plastic-Free YYC wants to tackle this challenge with YOU. As part of the 100in1Day movement PFYYC presents “The Amazing Trash Race” where Calgarians embark on a trek for trash across the city! Trash racers will log their found litter with an online app before tossing it into the bin. The top trash racers who collect and track the most litter on June 2nd will be awarded a special prize.

There are 5 easy steps to participate:
1) Download the Litterati app on your smart device. (
2) Create an account using your full name.
3) Join the Plastic-Free YYC club – go to the club tab and search for “Plastic-Free YYC” to find our group.
4) Go out on June 2nd, take a picture of each piece of litter you pick and upload it to the app.
5) Follow @plasticfreeyyc on Instagram and/or Facebook to see the competition results.

That’s it – it’s that easy! So, ready? Set? Go get that trash!
